The Sound Of Music Houston Theatre reviews
well done
The boys had low expectations because I explained it would be more about the music (they both take piano lessons and I'm trying to sneak in classical music appreciation). I took my 11 and 9 year old sons, and all three of us loved it (the 11 year old said it was the highlight of his summer, he had to buy a poster). Recommend bring a camera to record your memories; definitely dress up in character if you have gear. Since they both know all six episodes forward and backward, the movie footage--all synched with the music--was a great fly through the best The Sound Of Music moments, and kept them on the edges of their seats. The only thing I would have done is more lasers at the finale; also, at times it seemed that the audio clips from the movies popped a little, distracting from the totally-awesome music. No laser show until after 20 min intermission, which gave the second have a fresh flair. Great camera coverage of the orchestra dudes doing their thing throughout.
